OF HERBOLOGY TERMS

It's important to understand the subjects & terms used in Herbology. Below is a list of commonly misunderstood words & their meanings. 

Expectorant

refers to promoting the removal of mucus from the lungs.

Nervine

refers to the stimulation & strengthening the nervous system

Hepatic

refers to the aid and stimulation of the function of the liver

Febrifuge

refers to fever inducing.

Emmenagogic

refers to the speeding up or inducing of the menstrual flow.

Diuretic

refers to the promotion of the flow of urine from the body.

Astringent

refers to the constriction of the body's tissues, stopping the flow of blood or other secretions.
